Growing up close to New York City, Nan Kritzler frequently visited the many museums and galleries there where she studied art from old masters' works to contemporary creations. Her love of nature, whether it be in the woods or along the shore has strongly influenced her artistic development.
Her interest in nature and art led her to earn a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Carnegie-Mellon University in painting and printmaking. In addition, she has taken numerous courses at the Art Students League in New York City. An avid photographer, she has embraced digital media as another way to create images both representational and imaginary. This has not replaced traditional paint on canvas, but has enhanced her creative experience.
Her work has been shown at the Venice Art Center, Venice, FL; Lexington Art Gallery, New York City; Raja Shop and Gallery, Khajuraho, India; Island Arts, Chincoteague, VA; Yellowhouse Gallery, Nags Head, NC; and Island Art Gallery, Manteo, NC.
After years of travel, Ms. Kritzler moved to Venice, Florida. Her close observation of the natural environment incorporates the tropical light and organic forms to bring forth a unique interpretation of the spirit of nature's beauty.
